GRAND THEFT HITS SPIDEY'S 'MARY JANE'

KIRSTEN DUNST ROBBED AT SOHO GRAND HOTEL

August 24, 2007 -- Where was Spidey when she needed him?

Two brash burglars sneaked into "Spider-Man" star Kirsten Dunst's swanky SoHo hotel suite and swiped her $13,000 handbag, wallets, cash, cameras and an iPod, The Post has learned.

The heist occurred just minutes after Dunst, actor Simon Pegg, star of the films "Hot Fuzz" and "Shaun of the Dead," and assistant Liat Baruch left the penthouse in the Soho Grand Hotel early Aug. 9 to shoot scenes for her new film, "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People," authorities said.

Cops, aided by hotel surveillance video, busted one suspect Tuesday as he left Brooklyn Supreme Court, where he was facing pending heroin-sale charges.

Jarrod Beinerman, 33, of Brooklyn, was being held on $50,000 bond after his arraignment Wednesday in Manhattan Criminal Court on burglary and grand-larceny charges. Cops are searching for Beinerman's alleged accomplice, whose name they know.

Beinerman's arrest came as Dunst - who played Spidey's perky love interest, Mary Jane Watson, in all three "Spider-Man" movies - wrapped up shooting "How to Lose Friends" in Manhattan. Her spokesman declined to comment yesterday.

Beinerman has a long criminal record, including two federal drug convictions in the late 1990s related to his role in a cocaine-distribution ring and to subsequently possessing narcotics in prison.

The Gravesend man, who is a union plumber, served more than three years in prison for those two cases before spending six months in a halfway house, from which he was released in 2001.

In February, Beinerman was busted in Brooklyn on heroin charges, which threaten to send him back to prison for up to 25 years. Since that arrest, he has been free on $5,000 bail.

His latest alleged caper began Aug. 9, when Dunst, 25, Pegg, 37, who is her co-star in "How to Lose Friends," and Baruch, 26, left the actress' penthouse suite at 4:48 a.m., court records indicate.

Within minutes, Beinerman was spotted by surveillance cameras entering the hotel at 310 West Broadway, according to records. A source said he was accompanied by his accomplice.

Beinerman took a guest elevator to the floor below Dunst's suite and then took a freight elevator up to the penthouse level.

There, Beinerman allegedly walked through an open door into the penthouse and stole items belonging to Dunst and her companions, including $2,500, a Marc Jacobs purse, wallets containing IDs and credit cards, several bags - including one by Balenciaga - two digital cameras, a cellphone and an iPod, records state.

Most of the high-value items - including the bag valued at $13,000 - were Dunst's.

Beinerman and his accomplice were caught again on video exiting the hotel with the loot, according to a criminal complaint. The theft was discovered about an 1? hours later.

Authorities have since recovered credit cards, ID cards and the cellphone.

At Beinerman's arraignment Wednesday, his lawyer, James Kirschner, told a judge: "He tells me they were filming a movie that day [at the hotel]. That's why he was there. He went there to check out what was going on."

Kirschner also told the judge that surveillance footage showed Beinerman holding nothing in his hands when he left the hotel.

Beinerman's personal MySpace page showed he last logged onto the site Monday - the day before his bust. His "mood" setting on the page indicated he was "worried."

The page also features the quote, "Learn from your mistakes and grow from misfortune," along with photos of stacks of $20 bills, and plays the 50 Cent song "I Get Money" for visitors.

Posted July 12th, 2008 by fashiongossip
A burglar who stole Kirsten Dunst?s handbag during a hotel raid is facing jail.

Jarrod Beinerman, 34, broke into the penthouse suite of New York?s SoHo Grand Hotel while Kirsten Dunst was staying there last year (07).
He admitted illegally entering the hotel suite and taking Dunst?s $13,000 (?6,500) Marc Jacobs handbag.
But he claims he never meant to target the actress, who was in the Big Apple filming upcoming movie ?How to Lose Friends? and Alienate People.
Jarrod Beinerman entered a plea to second-degree burglary on Thursday (10Jul08), according to the New York Post.
He is now facing four-and-a-half years in jail.

Facing four and a half years?  That's what I call a justice system.  People have had less over here for murder.

Thats true - but US justice system is not worser than some european ones:

For ex. for sexual violence people in Austria get about max. 6 months to 3 years, for some "black work", producing just some webpages for companies for about 2.000 USD some student got 1 year.... not in jail, but nerarly.
In Italy not paying taxes for half million is less worse delict than insulting the italian state in public.
Please dont think that I did all this but travelling much around and living in this two states I read much and often some "outsider" sees more than a insider  Lips sealed

Seen at http://uk.eonline.com/uberblog/b27404_accused_kirsten_dunst_burglar_gets_jail.html:
The guy accused of stealing a bunch of stuff from Kirsten Dunst is paying for it in spades.

Jarrod Beinerman, 33, was sentenced to four and a half years in jail after pleading guilty to attempted burglary in connection with the theft of a $13,000 Balenciaga bag, an iPod and various other goodies from Dunst's suite last year at the Soho Grand Hotel in Manhattan.

Pleading to the lesser charge allowed Beinerman to avoid more serious counts of burglary and grand larceny. While not copping to any thievery, the offender "admitted being in the hotel" on Aug. 9, 2007, when the incident took place, defense attorney Mitchell Elman told the New York Daily News.

A spokeswoman for the Manhattan District Attorney's Office told E! News at the time that security cameras caught two men leaving the hotel's penthouse, where Dunst was staying while in town to film scenes from the comedy How to Lose Friends & Alienate People.

The Brooklyn-based Beinerman, who already had a lengthy rap sheet and had served three years in prison for his role in a cocaine ring, was arrested shortly afterward during a court hearing on unrelated charges. His accomplice has not been identified.
