"AND so we come to the final leg of fashion month: Paris Fashion Week. Bruno Pieters, Manish Arora, Rick Owens and Bernhard Willhelm were among the designers getting things underway yesterday - the first full day of on-schedule shows - but it was Christophe Decarnin at Balmain that got everyone talking, thanks to a native American-inspired show swinging with lavish fringing and symbolised embellishment (think eagles soaring across the white plain of silk mini dresses). Off the catwalk, there will be plenty of high-fashion fun to be had this week; Colette has things wrapped up with its birthday windows, celebrating the year's big fashion anniversaries (everything from Valentino's 45th to the 10-year anniversary of Fendi's Baguette), while Kirsten Dunst, Sophia Coppola, Jessica Stam, Carmen Kass and Richard Nicoll will all be in town to party. Stam and Kass will host a party at Le Baron on Wednesday to fete the opening of eco-friendly NY club, The Greenhouse, and Dunst and Coppola will help launch the fifth edition of bi-annual fashion tome Lula - which Dunst guest-edited - at Chanel Rue Cambon boutique on Friday, while across town Nicoll celebrates winning prestigious French fashion prize, ANDAM, with photographer Jason Evans at Maria Luisa. That's not forgetting, of course, all the front row action to be had: today will see Vivienne Westwood, Christian Dior, Maison Martin Margiela and Yohji Yamamoto steal the fashion limelight. Click back later to see all the photos straight off the catwalks. (October 1 2007, AM)

A long time ago a very wise person on this site indicated that the best way to meet KD was to be employed in  her areas of interest.  One of her spheres of interest is obviously elegant fashion.  I wonder....

Well I know how to re-connect a button if it came off.

So maybe it's time for a carreer change... Smiley

I would love to meet KD, but to change my job - nope :-)

Tried to get tickets/invitation for this fashion- party, but even if my family is a good customer of Chanel this is quite impossible. And it is not possible to buy tickets for this fashion show in a ticket shop :-( :-(

Hi!

I was asking Chanel for tickets but it is simply not possible...

I got following response:
All our fashion shows are also forecasted on ? Paris-Premi?re ? TV channel and on big screens in our boutiques.

Does that mean that in the US it will be possible to see it in these stores, in Europe not cause in evening when the show-party will be the shops will be closed.....

kforab, you are an industrious person, and like me, deserve to meet Kirsten.  I am not sure that we need to change jobs completely, just come up with new designs and stuff, and make an impression sufficient for one 40 minute meeting with her Honor.  I agree, that this idea looks bad--but most of my ideas sound and look bad.  But some of my ideas come through.    Perhaps, I could be a fashion reporter from Oklahoma, and  attend the events that way?  But I don't mind trying to come up with a design or something.  Of course, I now sound like ...... one who changes appearances rapidly..... a.... I forgot the word.

Dear Hamlet,

I think the best chance would have been when Kirsten was parting in London inviting many people to her homeafter she broke up with Jonny.... But I read this news to late and first I was not decided if I should fly there or not.. You know - from Austria it is not so far  Smiley

I would do much to meet Kirsten, but to change job never.... Most I would be interested how she likes me or not  Smiley  Smiley maybe I am quite selfish but I would be very interested to know hows her first impression what I gave her... Just to know if she would "notice" me.

It is too sad that she is not offering to her fans some kind of meet-and-greet.
Even my girlfriend is quite much fan of her and would love to meet her one time. So IF I will meet her then with my girlfriend. My girlfriend if quite sick - strong diabete - but meeting Kirsten is her biggest whish. I try much to do that, but it seems quite impossible til now....
We wrote her a letter, but nothing...  Embarrassed

Kforab, it is almost impossible for Kirsten to answer all letters even from great fans like you and your girlfriend. There are many who try to take advantage of her, in all ways. Sometimes, just opening an envelope creates the chance for a lawsuit.  But just between you and me, she has done wonderful and miraculous things for everyday people, and these things she has done,  will endure.  Some of these things are seen in how she helps with the kids who have such devastating problems.  But there is more, an infinity of more.   If she does not know personally of you, she knows of people like you. And I think knowing these people makes her happy.  If she does nothing else, the rest of her life, she has still done great.  And the funny thing is that she has done this with the love inside of her, and not with her money, or her Hollywood power.  Just love.

She has lost a lot because she is a celebrity.  One thing she can't do is to really interact with the many, many fans she has. The numbers are too big.   Except she is very smart, and perhaps later she will figure out a way. And then again, maybe she communicates to us by making movies?  If she does not communicate to us, why are we on this site? It's just a different language.

She has a great intuition, and she would recognize the good in you effortlessly.

I don't know her....except maybe in my imagination, or by what  people on site write.  But I've always thought she was very special, not perfect,  and  close to unique.
