After some email contact with John I can only say that I am more than 100% sure that it was not his, not Jess and from noone from the kd.org- groups fault that the information about Kirsten In would come to premiere was completely wrong. John tried to warn us, but it was too late - even if I checked over my mobile-phone the messages from this forum when I was waiting for her appearance on red carpet.
But still beeing sad and depressed about this nearly useless travelling John tried all to make me feel better.
I will not post here his emails, but I can tell you that John has the heart on the right place and has a deep and true understanding of fairness. For all this I ask YOU, members of this forum now to support same John, Jess and Marc and not be angry about no one of them. They did really try all to help us to see one time Kiki on the red carpet.
For all this I thank you, John very much. also the financial thing its solved - but please dont think that John is rich. He is just a normal guy spending much time on working on it. Time what is not beeing payed. He gave me little inside knowledge of all this and I can tell you that he is real and not someone payed by Kirstens management. He and also Jess are not related to them, otherwise they would have known about Kikis absence much more sooner - a flight from NY to London takes more than 3-4 hours
Same thanks to traveller about his ironically but thruth report. It was a nice chatting time with him, waiting near red carped.
At last again a message to JESS: PLEASE DONT BE SO SAD, you was doing great!!!!
Bye
Klaus

Even if the chance is only about 0.0001% I still hope to meet one day Kiki

Thanks for the kind words kforab, it was the least I could do.
Traveller I have to be honest and say you were the last person I expected to attend the premiere
. I don't know where you are from but if you incurred financial costs travelling to/from the premiere etc please email me and I'll recompense you.
Same goes to anyone else.
I'm still very angry and upset about what happened on wednesday, but life goes on I guess.

Hi traveller. Thank you for your email (well I assume it was from you as it's certainly in your style).
As to why I was surprised you went to the premiere well just a few days ago you posted this
"Personally I can't understand the need to "have a glimpse " of a star(let) like it was some monument or something or that made you share some of her "fame" for a half minute... Goes well beyond my understanding".
Not sure if I'd have 'travelled' as far as you did for just a glimpse!.
Heh heh I think that this must make you Kirstens Number 2 fan (no doubt you will be aghast to hear that
). kforab is Number 1 of course.
Me and Jess didn't even turn up and we both live in London. We must be the worst fans in the world!

Suppose they threw a premiere and nobody came?
I too was there at the premiere. A 400-odd mile round trip, overnight stay, a couple of days off work and no Kirsten!
I arrived at Leicester Square about 2.45pm and there was already a line of around 30 people in the middle of the pavement in front of the cinema, which had some reassuringly enormous posters of Kirsten hanging from it. So I eyed up the best position and took my spot. A few passers-by stopped, looking puzzled and asked why we were all standing in line. About an hour later, they decided to put up the barriers and amusingly, in a take-no-prisoners manoeuvre, everyone in the line scurried up to them and jostled for position. Managed to bag a spot slap bang in front of the cinema doors. Perfect! They then decided the barriers were in the wrong place and moved them backwards and everyone begrudgingly shuffled back. Then ten minutes later, they moved them back to where they were! I should have known there and then, it wasn?t going to be a good day!
I got talking to a couple of people next to me, who had been there since 10am. They go to all the premieres and take pictures and sell them to the media. I said I was here to see Kirsten and they said she?s not coming. What?!
I thought they must be mistaken and they showed me their press sheet listing who from the film was going. No Jeff Bridges, no Megan Fox and no Kirsten! Oh no! Still, I thought she?ll be there, just not on the list.
Gradually, the TV cameras arrived and I watched all the TV presenters doing their bits to camera (usually messing up the first few takes. Well it passed the time!). The red carpet arrived in the back of a van about 5.00pm and they were still laying it a few minutes before the stars arrived. All seemed a bit disorganised. The paparazzi turned up and the people next to me commented how few of them there were. Always a sign there?s not going to be a lot of celebs turning up. Right in front of me, Edith Bowman arrived, appears she was going to be the main presenter for the night and interviewed the stars to the camera crane which I could almost reach out and touch (the camera, not Edith).
Then about 6.00pm, Simon Pegg and the director, Bob Weide, suddenly appeared at the end of the red carpet to no particular fanfare and started doing the interviews along the media line. I gradually realised there was going to be no Kirsten.
Toby Young arrived and looked like he was lapping up the attention. Then a few of the usual z-list celebs turned up ? Gok Wan, Konnie Huq etc. Some of the actors with minor roles in the movie also arrived but passed by anonymously and finally, a very pregnant Gillian Anderson arrived last.
The director wandered over to us and I got his autograph on a movie photo. He said it was his first premiere and had never been asked for his autograph before. He was even taking photos himself of the front of the cinema. How sweet! Then Simon Pegg came over and I got his autograph too on the photo. I asked him ?Where?s Kirsten?? and he said she?s busy working in the States.
So after 5 hours of standing around, I?d had enough and wandered away disappointed. I?d had the best position I?d ever had at a premiere (been to five Kirsten premieres now). If Kiki had been there, she?d have been interviewed right in front of me. Oh well. I have to say it was the most lacklustre premiere I?ve ever been to, it was weirdly quiet. You could sense the crowd were distinctly underwhelmed.
Still never mind, there?s always next time. I always think going to a premiere is a bit of a gamble anyway, you might/might not see the stars, so you have to go prepared for that, so if you do meet them it?s a bonus. I guess it?s going to be a while until the next Kirsten movie premiere?

I forgot to mention earlier that i'm having big problems with my website email (
john@kirsten-dunst.org
) since yesterday morning (has a disgruntled fan sabotaged it?
) so please email me using the email link in my forum posts.
Jonnyfun I wish we'd seen that press list. That does not tally at all with the press list Jess was given the day before the premiere, nor with the (lack of) info we were given on the day.
That offer of a refund is open to everyone (well until i declare myself bankrupt anyway
) so please contact me Jonnyfun

Greetings,
I am very sad to hear about all of the frustration and anger at this premiere. It must have been horrible to spend so much time and effort only to have your hopes crushed.
Even so, I do not understand the animosity towards the movie or towards Kiki - after all, the unfortunate happenings were the fault of others.
I am still very excited to see this movie when it comes to my town a week from today. I think it will be very funny and have been looking forward to this for some time.
You see, for me it will be 521 days since I went to see a new movie starring Kiki, and that has been the longest time between movies since she was 11 years old!
Everyone who is a member of this site loves Kiki for different reasons. Some for fashion, some for beauty, some for celebrity, etc. I don't go in for much of that. I very much dislike the paparazzi and everything they do, and think this is the least likable aspect of this website. I do, however, think she is extremely talented as an actress. I am here because of her movies. The fact that she is drop dead gorgeous does not hurt, either.
I realize that many of you wasted a day, and spent considerable money on a poorly organized event. This is very unfortunate, but you must take it in stride. I have spent an equivalent amount of time working up scans from a single magazine to help make this the best Kiki website. I work on these a little bit every day. One project I did took several hundred hours. Sometimes there are setbacks. You must think back to why you are here - what it is that draws to to this website.
Also, think of it - the paparazi have made it so any
'admiring fan'
is put in a different light than 20 years ago. I can understand why there is extra secrecy at events that celebrities go to.
I am sorry if I have offended anyone. I love Kiki and I think this is the greatest fan website there is. I know that we are all different, but I just want to sit back and admire the amazing career of this young lady. This will be her 42nd full length movie that she has been a part of, and 28th that she has had a major role in. That is more than one major role per year of her life! Sixteen of these movies were released during the four year period of 1998 - 2001, before she was (too) famous, and before she had to worry about the paparazzi. I still love those years the best.
Anyway, cheer up, and go see this movie and have a few laughs. We all know the world could do with a little more laughter!
Cheers,
- rsvpjrdot

rsvpjrdot I know how much you do for the website. You can be proud of yourself.
About the blocked/hacked or whatever john@kirsten-dunst.org: I am sorry to use so hard words, but everyone who hack a computer system, website, email adress or attacks these systems should be prosecuted by law.
I know that in the internet it is quite easy to find every information needed to do this, but this is for me as for many other people a crime and does not have to do anything with a "joke". However who ever has (like months ago hacked Kd.org's website putting a virus on it) done this with the email adress must know that this can have severe consequences. I am not the owner of this websites and have also no rights to tell what the kd.org team should do, but hacking a site, email adress... isnt a child's- joke like ring on a wrong door.
Sorry to tell this but maybe cause I am an expert in IT- security, previously working several years at a internet- provider I can tell you how easy it is sometimes to find a hacker/cracker over its IP-adress. So everyone blocking or hacking a website, email- adress or computer system should know that no matter how good he can hide his IP- adress, its always in some way possible to find out who you are. I know about what I am speaking!
So I hope that
john@kirsten-dunst.org
will soon be OK again, best whishes to the kd.org team!!!!

Rsvpjrdot, how I miss your post! And thank you for all those amazing magazine scans and montages too! Personally, I'm more than happy to see a new movie starring Kirsten after 521 days. And for the record, Jess and the gang (John, Marc, Rsvp and whoever works for the site) are the best.

According to Simon Pegg, Kirsten will join him on monday to promote the film in New York. There wont be a premiere, just a series or interviews and tv appearances.
"I'm off to New York tomorrow for the final press push.
Got a full day on Monday which will be eased by the presence of a certain squeeze of Spidey's who'll helping me with the burden.
Doing Conan O'Brien on Monday night and various other bits and bobs throughout the week. In the mean time, here's another blog from the Guardian site..."

Thanks for the info pam_cris.
WTF is going on with the lack of promotion for this film?.
No US premiere to be held yet the New York Film Festival is being held this week.
I've checked this weeks line up for the top 15 US talk shows and Simons appearance on mondays Conan O'Brien show is the only "How To Lose Friends" related appearance all week. Kirsten isn't listed as appearing on any shows and neither are any of the other stars of the film. There is the odd (so far) unannounced guest slot on a few of the shows but it looks like Simons Conan appearance will be the only 'big' one.
Wonder what (if anything) these other TV appearances will be?.
I'm absolutely baffled by this complete lack of promotion of the film.
Still I did see a few 'posters' on London buses yesterday so that's all right then
.
Oh and kforab my comment re being hacked was a joke. The email isn't working but I think it's a problem with how the accounts set up or something (too technical for me to understand).

Dear John,
Thank you very much for the information. Its good to know that there are only tecnical problems and no one against your website.
Some ads of HLF are also in the subway station Leicester Square and on busstation walls in Krakow/ Poland.
But you're true - it is looking like the promotion of this film is not very good/ strong, like they would be not so much interested in it. Maybe it will be different in the US.

It is after all an British production, so I'm not too surprised by the somewhat lack of promotion of the film on US talk shows. But I kind of feel like the distribution companies (Paramount&MGM) are a mess when it comes to promote HTLF. Simon Pegg had been travelled to US and have done a lot of press interviews for it in the past 2 months actually, but most of them lead to almost nothing. So as far as surprise TV appearances go, I highly doubt there will be any, though some press coverages are expected.
Maybe the lack of US premiere is also because of its competitive release week? There's going to be 7 wide-release flicks on Oct. 3rd, and some of them will be seen in over 3000+ theaters while HTLF will only playing in 1750 theaters. Just my 2 cents.

I actually think it's a pretty 'nothing' week for cinema releases in the US (box office wise anyway) so I'm amazed that some films are opening in almost twice as many cinemas as "How To Lose Friends".
Here's a link to the full MTV "How To Lose Friends" interview and (for US based fans only) the video of the interview.

in this film, kirsten is not dubbed with her regular german voice, because marie bierstedt has born a child at the time the film was dubbed in germany.
here sonja spuhl is giving her voice to kirsten. she spoke kirsten three times before in other films.
