Greetings,

Thanks so much gkfi!

I am very much looking forward to this movie!  I love Kiki in comedies - especially when she is not always the 'straight man'.  It sounds like in this movie she gets to stretch her legs, so to speak, and I think it will be a great movie!

Cheers,

I recently read the book, and well... let's be a diplomat here, it wasn't really my style.
I hope the film is more my thing, but it should be ... Kirsten is in it!!!

Greetings,

I am soo sad to think I have to wait more than a year from now to see this movie.  I ... don't .. think . I . . can.. last . that .  long . . .

Perhaps they are after the Oscar vote, and it is too late for this year.  D'oh!

Cheers,

More than one year? I hope it's worth the wait. (Well, with Kirsten and Simon in it, I'm sure it will.)

Very nice.  But too long to wait.  I think the Chipmunk posters look strange, and I thought Adam Sandler looked more like Patrick Dempsey than Adam Sandler.  This might be a good thing.

During the forum off-line time, there were some positive buzz about HTLFAP.

The first one is from Geoffrey Macnab in the Independent, in a column titled, "What's Going to be Hot in 2008":

"On a lighter note, the trailer for How to Lose Friends and Alienate People (the adaptation of Toby Young's book about his misadventures as a British journalist in New York) suggests this might be a British comedy that makes audiences laugh. One scene ? showing Simon Pegg (as the Young character) making an utterly hapless attempt to chat up Kirsten Dunst in a singles bar ? was very funny indeed in its own smirking, sub-Viz fashion."

And one from Cosmo Landesman in the Sunday Times, in a column titled "What's Hot -- The Best of 2008":

"On the question of disappointing films, I have to admit I was hoping that How To lose Friends & Alienate People, based on the book by my old friend Toby Young, would be a stinker. Simon Pegg plays a hapless English hack trying to make it in the Big Apple. I?ve seen a 10-minute trailer, and my worst fears have been confirmed: it?s really very funny."
