Gosling, Dunst line up 'Good Things'
Andrew Jarecki to direct period love story
http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117979404.html?categoryId=13&cs=1
PARK CITY, Utah -- Kirsten Dunst is in negotiations and Ryan Gosling has signed on to star in the period love story/murder mystery "All Good Things" for Michael London's Groundswell Prods.
Andrew Jarecki ("Capturing the Friedmans") will make his feature helming debut on the film, which will start shooting in April on the East Coast. Marcus Hinchey, Marc Smerling and Jarecki penned the screenplay.
Set in the 1980s, story centers on the scion of a New York real estate dynasty (Gosling) who falls for a beautiful girl from the wrong side of the tracks (Dunst). But the fairy tale ends when the girl disappears. As a down-and-out detective stumbles on info that may lead to the truth, the political stakes get higher and people close to the case end up dead.
London is producing alongside Marc Smerling and Jarecki.
Dunst is in Park City to promote her directorial debut, the short "Welcome," which is playing in Sundance's Shorts Program III. She most recently starred in "Spider-Man 3" and next appears in "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People." Dunst is repped by WMA and Management 360.
Gosling, who is receiving awards-season recognition for his starring role in "Lars and the Real Girl," recently dropped out of Peter Jackson's "The Lovely Bones. He is repped by IFA Talent and Artist Management.

This project makes me curious. A while ago, gossip sites were spread the rumor that Courtney Love wants Scarlett Johansson instead of Kirsten to portray her in a biopic of Kurt Cobain, and Ryan Gosling might be interested to play Mr. Cobain himself. Now, Kirsten and Gosling might actually work together, but for a period love story/murder mystery!
So if it works out, this could actually be Kirsten's next film despite the ongoing writer's strike.

Like i said in my recent 'Jealous Ghost' post i think that will be Kirsten's next (or maybe next but one
film).
Kirsten isn't yet confirmed to appear in this film yet but significantly, of all the films shes been linked with, it's the only one that has announced a date for filming to begin.
If it happens it'll be Kirstens second film-role in a row thats been announced with no prior speculation.
As for the role itself. Well the plot is pretty vague so we'll have to wait and see.

I doubt that this makes it official. So, does someone else have more reliable info?

Andrew Jarecki will direct.
The film -- written by Marcus Hinchey, Marc Smerling and Jarecki -- is a love story and murder mystery set against a real estate dynasty in 1980s New York. The plot centers on the scion of the dynasty (Gosling) who falls for a beautiful girl (Dunst) from the wrong side of the tracks, who disappears. The story sounds quite interesting..... I really hope Kirsten will play there - but like I told in last postings
most important is that Kirsten will first find peace in her private life

Good news for 'All Good Things'
The Weinstein Co. has closed a deal on North American rights to helmer Andrew Jarecki's love story-cum-murder mystery "All Good Things," about a Gotham real estate dynasty in the 1980s.
Weinstein Intl. will handle foreign sales for Groundswell Prods. commencing with Cannes.
Pic is the debut feature helming gig for Jarecki (docu "Capturing the Friedmans"). Ryan Gosling, Kirsten Dunst, Frank Langella and Jeffrey Dean Morgan star.
Drama is budgeted at about $20 million and begins shooting in New York and Connecticut this month.
Jarecki co-wrote the script with Marc Smerling and Marcus Hinchey. More than a year ago, the trio approached Michael London at Groundswell; he signed on to produce and finance. Details of the plot are being kept mum.
"Andrew's a very ambitious guy with a huge future, and I think Harvey (Weinstein) sees that and wants to be a partner in that," London said.

Friday, May 09, 2008:
Earlier this year, she needed to take a little time to get herself together in rehab, but yesterday Kirsten Dunst was spotted doing her thing on a new movie set.
The ?Crazy/Beautiful? babe was having a great time on location for ?All Good Things,? a new film co-starring ?Lars and the Real Girl? stud Ryan Gosling.
Kirsten clutched a pack of American Spirit cigarettes and sported a green scoopneck t-shirt, designer jeans, strappy sandals and a pair of retro white sunglasses as she made her way around her new gig.
?All Good Things? is said to be a dramatic mystery about a detective who begins to unravel a missing persons case that gets deeper into a New York City real estate dynasty the further it goes. There?s no release date as of yet.

I have to say, All Good Things looks promising so far and Kirsten's on-set visit looks were refreshing as well.
