spider-man 3 also won the best weekend category against 'pirates of the caribbean: at worlds end'
even though it started in more cinemas.  Grin
pirates: 4362 cinemas, spider-man 3: 4252 cinemas.

As of this this date, my Yahoo Boxoffice says (US totals):

SPM3           335,625,000.

Shrek 3        318,937,000

POC3           306,034,000

HP Phoenix  207,866,000.

I think SPM3 did pretty well under good competition.  I don't know what the final Harry Potter US totals will be.  Of course, we are only talking money.  Have the actors in the Harry Potter series already set international box office record totals for actors,  in tickets sold?  If not, the actors  should beat SPM,  Star Wars, and  LOR series totals (others?)  after they complete the movies, shouldn't they?

Here in Italy Spider-Man 3 is the first too : 18.021.622 euro
