HI. I HEARD THAT SHE'S SINGING IN THIS MOVIE. I LOOKED ON THE SOUNDTRACK HOPING TO FIND A SONG LISTED....NOTHING THERE .  THE LAST SONGS I REMEMBER HEARING HER SING SHOWED UP ON THE SOUNDTRACK("AFTER YOU'VE GONE" FROM CAT'S MEOW AND "DREAM OF ME" FROM GET OVER IT). OH, YES....."THE GIRL INSIDE" FROM GET OVER IT

so that was really her singing both songs? it sounded like her singing, but you can never know for sure when it comes to hollywood.

Actress KIRSTEN DUNST has ruled out a career on Broadway - because she is terrified of singing live.

The 26-year-old showed off her vocal talents for her role in the third Spider-Man film - but pre-recorded a song for fear of performing in front of the cast and crew on-set.

And she insists it is her apprehension over her singing abilities that keep her from starring in musical theatre.

She says, "Singing in the movie was fun because I got to record the song, and then I lip-synched to my own voice because I'm scared to sing in front of people in real life.

"I don't have it in me. I'd do it but not professionally or anything like that. I mean, not on a Broadway stage, that's for sure."


But myself I hope that we will see and hear her singing soon in one of her next movies - cause I love her singing voice soooo much

I always tht. that standing on a stage with a guitar and singing a song was abt. the scariest thing possible outside of going to war. An impossibility for me.    I am not sure I'm any better, but I think now I don't care so much abt. failing.  And if I can get just 50% better, I mt. try it at a little eatery/club here.   So, I won't take even Ms. Dunst's own comments as the last word as to her singing efforts.  Things change, abilities grow, confidence increases.  KD has a bunch of time to say new  last words, just like me (well, Broadway is a slightly bigger venue than the Red Cup).

Also dont forget that if Kirsten would sing on brodway we would see her less in movies and also she would have less time for all her other projects, like "The Art Of Elysium" or her work like regisseur.
She should just do what she likes most. Maybe she loves to sing, but maybe most in bathroom  She should just do what she likes - but for sure I would love to see and hear more of her singing.

This remembers me Paul Potts, the great tenor, who was a mobile- phone- seller til he was discovered at  "Britain?s Got Talen". No one knows which talents we have inside us.

Kforab, I don't think we disagree.  When I hear the word impossible or words to that effect, I have a silly  automatic reflex to disagree, even with you know who.   But to force her singing, before she is ready inside, would be foolish. No need. And just maybe she'd like to keep some of herself private, even if she's better than anyone else.  Kirsten has good sense, and if never changes into something else, she will know.  And you are right when you say that she does plenty w/o opening up a Broadway career.  22/23 years of plenty. But.... hard to know what she'll do decades  from now.
