LAST night was the biggest fashion event of the year as the world’s most glamorous stars took to the red carpet for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala in New York.
Often dubbed the Oscars of Fashion, a star-studded turn out is always expected for the glitzy event.
And last night's ceremony didn’t disappoint.
Kate Moss arrived on the arm of designer Marc Jacobs - who designed her stunning one-shouldered metallic gown.
Her Grecian look was complete with a matching turban by Stephen Jones.
Madonna put her adoption worries to the back of her mind for the evening and turned heads in a Louis Vuitton puffball dress, thigh-high patent boots and a teal hair scarf.
Victoria Beckham also went for Louis Vuitton in a short cream and black polka dot frock with a flowing train. She topped off her look with a pair of cone-heeled shoes.
Rachel Weisz opted for the gothic look in a stunning floaty Vera Wang number and accentuated her pale skin with a layer of dark purple lipstick.
Kate Beckinsale looked incredible in a sweeping Marchesa feathered gown with a jeweled netted top.
Liz Hurley oozed elegance in a floor-length strapless peach dress with a rose pattern and accessorised with a pair of diamond earrings.
Heidi Klum was the talk of the night in a stunning sapphire-blue J.Mendel gown, covering her growing baby bump perfectly.
Liv Tyler went for a slimming floor-length royal blue sequined Stella McCartney with a plunging neckline, while Anne Hathaway showed off her pins in a Marc Jacobs mini dress and big hair.
Jessica Alba chose a blue above-knee Jason Wu frock with sequined accents, while Kirsten Dunst opted for a vintage gown.
Kate Hudson looked stunning in a gold floor-length Stella McCartney number with plunging neckline and side-slit.
Mary-Kate Olsen worked her silver and grey vintage-inspired off-the-shoulder Christian Lacroix dress.
Renee Zellweger chose a strapless floor-length dark green Carolina Herrera frock, while Eva Mendes showed off her olive skin in a silver pearl Calvin Klein gown.
