ISTANCOOL by LIBERATUM

After the great success of Istancool 2010, Liberatum will return to Istanbul in May 2011 with the second edition of the festival. Once again, Istancool will feature leading cultural personalities from Turkey and other parts of the world. The programme will aim to captivate and open minds.

Participants include Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka, Tilda Swinton, Courtney Love, Kirsten Dunst, Michael Stipe, Sam Taylor Wood, Paul Schrader – to name but a few.

Liberatum will hold the festival in association with Istanbul 74. The international collaborative partner is AnOther Magazine.

That's very interesting. I wonder if that means Kirsten will remain in europe after the "Melancholia" premiere at Cannes?

If so (& I guess it probably does) then hopefully that means that Kirsten is going to be doing some promotional work etc for Melancholia in some of the european countries where the film is being released in late May or early June.

A little bit surprised by this at first, but now I imagine one of the reasons she'll remain in europe after Cannes is to promote Melancholia in some of the european countries.

Kirsten arrived in Turkey last night & will attend the event on friday.

Just a guess but presumably any intended promo work for Melancholia this week was scrapped after last weeks events.

Word is she'll stay in Turkey until the 29th.
I was wondering whether they'll be any grand premiere at all while Melancholia hits Europe this week.

It doesn't look like there will be any premiere(s) or press events this week.

There should be a U.S premiere (albeit without Lars) & although it's unlikely I'm desperately hoping for a UK premiere too.

Anyway to get this thread kind of back on topic   Kirsten attended the Chanel Paris-Byzance Fashion Show in Istanbul last night & looked very elegant & beautiful in a white Chanel dress.
