It's one of my favorites too! Not only because of its gorgeous costume and sceneries, but also it's one of the most intimate and personal historical drama about a doomed girl-queen of France. Kirsten's breathtaking in this role!

My favourite Kiki movie.
She's simply irresistible.
I love all about this movie: the colours, the soundtrack, every little scene.

MA made me a Kiki-holic at once, and now I am one of her biggest fans. (no that's not a competition Wink ).
I don't understand why this movie wasn't a big hit, apart from people that only like action movies, like almost everyone I know.
I think she should have been nominated for an oscar, but to be honest I think she shouldn't have won it this year because of the competition. (Please don't shoot me for saying that!!!)

Exactly what I think...

You know there aren't many things we can understand in this world... people are what they are... nobody can change that!
And even I don't wanna change that because "each time I've seen the world changing, it got worse" (V for Vendetta, approximatively)!  Wink

Add me to the "my favorite Kirsten movie" list.  I'm hoping for a Region 1 deluxe DVD edition someday.
Incidently, Sony initially announced a Blu-ray DVD, but then cancelled it.

The French Royale edition

The Japanese deluxe edition to be released in July.  That's a jewelry box.
And the little shoe is a brooch.

Tough to buy here in Oklahoma -- its all pink or powder blue, and might get me in trouble.  And Tophat I do appreciate having you back.  You along with the others can find anything.   I too think that KD's MA is AOK.

I've no idea the Blu-ray DVD was cancelled!  Angry Think about Marie Antoinette in high definition!!

Personally, I think part of the reason MA was not appreciated enough in the States was because Sony's far-from-effective publicity. The decision to release it in only 800 plus theaters is even worse than small scale art house release.

I have watched Marie Antoinette, Kirsten is exactly right for the role and I loved it very much. Kiss

I'm just waiting for the blu-ray dvd of it but to my demise there is a shortage of them blu diodes in the production that makes blu dvd's run. I hope they don't switch to other HDD's, it has the same quality though but differs in it's capabilities and besides Sony had made it first to introduce the blu-ray so it would be bad for them.

I just want to get the best because Marie Antoinette is my fave movie and I got a blu-ray dvd player also. Cheesy

Well... mine is a cheap plastic one, and they handed them out to al the visitors for free, but the images of Kirsten makes up for being a crappy fan.

By the way, I'm going to France next weekend, and stay in the Drome region for three weeks... yeah Cheesy
